How are our people?

Supporting and Development.

Context

The cost of living crisis alongside retention and recruitment battles for your workforce mean that leaders at every level and organisation continue to face challenges, having endured unparalleled levels of pressure and supported their teams through it all, but who has been there for them?

Leaders have been exhausted and overwhelmed with the enormity of the situations they have faced, in unchartered territory, and managing ongoing challenges with their colleagues. There is no wonder that those holding key positions are feeling the sheer weight of responsibility for those in their care and of ‘holding’ everyone and everything.  How are teams really performing, and how can we support our people at wok?

How can we help?

Like any organisation attuned to their workforce, good leaders know that the wellbeing of their staff  is paramount to create a thriving, efficient and purposeful environment.  Now, more than ever, we all have a moral duty to support our people as we all face the current economic landscape.

Touchstone Training can provide the training, time, space and opportunity for teams to examine their relationship intelligence and start to develop a stronger basis for understanding communication and team performance.

What will we do?

We will provide bespoke programmes tailored to the unique needs of your organisation and team.  These can be commissioned to include one to one, virtual or face to face supervision or coaching sessions for your leaders.  During this protected and valuable time, they will be able to process the challenges they face and explore ways in which they can look after themselves and their teams.

We have worked with teams who want to use a benchmarking tool, grounded in research and theory that is why we are able to offer both Core Strengths SDI 2.0 and Myers Briggs Type Indicator delivered by certified facilitators should you wish to use these with your teams.

These sessions are designed to allow your most valuable resource to have the space, time and opportunity to share their own state of mind, allowing your leaders to work through their frustrations, worries and anxieties in a safe and solution focused environment.

We can offer small group sessions where staff can discuss the challenges they are facing when dealing with difficult situations again and building up their resilience again.

What will you get?

Many organisations buy into an Employee Assistance Programme which have varying degrees of quality. These systems are now overstretched, and leaders have reported that the availability of telephone and face to face sessions are limited for their setting. With Touchstone Training, you will get the same coach every time, via an online platform or face to face appointment. The coach will not call on any other resources and can fit in around your operational day if required. You will know that your leaders have a dedicated time to reflect, discuss and process about how they are feeling and performing.

Your group of staff will receive the same level of service, giving them an internal support network of colleagues that they can turn to when they need a friendly face.

What will it cost?

Perhaps a better question is to consider what it would cost if your leaders start to feel the full effects of this pressure and stress and are forced to take time out of work? What is the cost, but more importantly the impact of calling in supply and temporary staff? What if our staff suffer burn out and leave? What if we have to go out to advert, draft in an agency, run recruitment processes constantly?

A proactive and timely approach in support and recognition of this challenging and difficult time leads to a reduction in staff absence and turnover. However, a whole cultural shift to the importance of supervision as an effective programme of support for leadership will endure beyond the current challenges.

Let us know what your organisation needs, and our experience can help guide us to a programme of support that is flexible and adaptable based on your current needs, we are more than happy to negotiate a model that will work best for you and your setting.

For example,

a) choose a team that would benefit from revisiting how they make decisions, how they manage difficult situations, or how they can act as a team to support each other in getting back to their high performance by focusing on their own needs rather than serving their teams or line management reports. 3 x 90 minute small group sessions, focused on an area that they have prioritised.

b) you could identify 5 members of a team, or teams and give them 4 x 50 minute sessions over one or two months, or if you felt that you would like to reach more of your staff, then we can plan fewer sessions for each person.  It is your organisation, your knowledge and experience will dictate which package best suits your organisation.  Then leave the rest to us.
